Audio Visual Promo to Inform
Public Information Film - Aids 1986 (youtube.com)
The United Kingdom Public Information Film (1986) to create awareness about Aids spreading across the UK is an advert with the purpose to inform. This is an audio visual promo with the purpose to inform because the promo is solely to inform the public about aids and how dangerous it can be otherwise everyone would be unaware and uninformed so this audio visual promo was issued to inform the public about the spreading disease.
The promo's visuals are extremely dramatic and includes natural disasters like volcanic eruptions and rock slides. Although these visuals have nothing to do with the aids disease itself, the Government used this tactically to make viewers pay attention to the advert so that they can be informed about aids. The Government knew if they used a plain black screen behind the text not as many people would pay attention and ultimately less people would be informed about aids, making it more dangerous to the public. Therefore, they used dramatic and violent visuals to hook the spectators so that they see the advert and get informed about aids and how it is transmitted.

Barclays are informing the public that they will never ask you for your full security pin and that if somebody is asking you that it is most likely a scammer so you have to be very wary. This audio visual promo would have been seen on TV when it was released and can now be watched on video sharing platforms like YouTube.
Audio Visual Promo to Educate
This is an advert that was released to educate Britain about Covid 19 and the precautions the public needs to take to stay safe and prevent the spread of the virus. The purpose of this advert is undoubtedly to educate because at the time the advert was released (March 2020) Covid 19 was still a very new virus and many people were unaware of the precautions so the government released the advert to educate the public on how to stay clear of Covid 19. The promo's visuals are simple and professional to portray to the viewers how serious this virus is and that people need to take the audio visual promo seriously and listen to what is being said so that they can remain safe.
Antibiotic resistance advert - keep antibiotics working and take your doctor's advice (youtube.com)
This is an NHS advert that was made to educate the people of the UK about antibiotics. The NHS wanted to educate the public about how dangerous it is to use antibiotics for every little thing like the cold or the flu and that antibiotics should only be used when they are needed because if your body gets used to taking biotics too frequently they will stop working when you really need them. A lot of people were taking antibiotics when they didn't need to and this ultimately meant that the antibiotics didn't work when they needed them because their body got used to them, therefore the NHS released this advert on the television as this was the most optimal way to educate the public as many people watch television. The advert was also uploaded onto websites like YouTube.
Audio Visual Promo to Entertain
This is a KFC audio visual promo with the purpose to entertain. The advert features a chicken traversing across a snowy terrain until it comes across a turkey; the chicken and the turkey stand in a way which is supposed to mimic a standoff like a cowboy standoff. The turkey is much larger than the chicken, however the turkey flees as soon as the chicken flaps its wings. This is to convey to the audience that turkey may be a traditional meat to eat at Christmas time (when this promo was released) but chicken is here to stay all year round. It is not surprising that KFC would promote this message as they are a fast food restaurant and their main selling point is chicken, it is what they are known for. Therefore, they are trying to promote to the audience through this audio visual promo to not forget about chicken just because it is Christmas time and that as soon as Christmas is over KFC chicken is still available. The audio in this advert is the soundtrack to the famous western movie 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.' Clearly, this means that it is an audio visual promo with the purpose to entertain because it has both interesting and funny visuals that intrigue the viewers and make them laugh and audio to match with the visuals and creates a link between the audio and the visuals therefore creating an entertaining audio visual promo. This was an advert broadcasted on television.

This is a BOSS fragrance audio visual promo with the purpose to sell the new Boss Bottled Eau de Parfum. This audio visual promo features Chris Hemsworth, a famous and popular actor who has a large following. Audio visual promos with the purpose to sell often feature celebrity endorsements because a celebrity creating exposure for the product makes the viewers believe that the product is worth it, since someone they look up to likes it they think they must like it too. This is the case for the BOSS advert, Chris is the main focus for the visuals and we follow him as we see him in a formal suit and also exercising and jogging through a city. He also does the voiceover. This is a masculine fragrance therefore the target audience for the product is men; that is why BOSS used Chris Hemsworth to help sell this product, as he is a masculine actor who is mainly known for his roles in action movies (action movies audiences are predominantly male). The men watching the advert want to be like Chris Hemsworth and therefore seeing him use the product makes the audience want to as well and ultimately helps the product sell.
